Legal update forums - February 2017 (TNF2017/004)


Andrew Hudson, partner at Rigby Cooke Lawyers, will be presenting a legal update forum for us in February to bring you right up to date on current matters of critical interest to you and your business. The sessions will be of two-hour duration and will cover an array of topics including:

  • New legislation for 2017 including HS 2017, the expanded WTO Information Technology Agreement and new Commerce (Trade Descriptions) Regulations 2016
  • New cases - tariff classification and customs powers
  • FTA developments - ChAFTA issues including the ABF position paper on minor errors and discrepancies
  • Change to the LVT for GST on imports 
  • Issues arising from the last 2 ABF Compliance Updates including penalties and compliance focus issues
  • Biosecurity developments
  • Dumping and countervailing developments
  • Relevant international developments

These forums will attract 6 CPD points in Stream A under accreditation CBFCA072.
